July 20 2024- Our Second Play Test Event: Shmee and the Circle of Power!

Our second event involved a bumbling wizard named Shmee. "Follow Shmee" he would often say. After greetings the players at the Narnian portal he leads them to High King Peter (played by Jamie) sitting mightily on a “throne” (ie a souped-up lawn-chair) in a pavilion flanked by two guards.

There King Peter gave his speech "It has been long since new Son's of Adam and Daughters of Eve have arrived in Narnia. My time in Narnia I fear may be coming to an end. Aslan has bid me to grant a great boon to you all. Your time in Narnia has made you grow in power but with power comes danger. I sense a cold from the North and fear an ancient evil has been awakened. My scouts have yet to confirm but beware there have been frost wolves spotted in the lands which means winter may not be far behind. “

King Peter Continues: "Many of you have faced many of the threats Narnia has to offer which means your bodies are able to now suffer death. It is for this reason I have come.

Alsan has created a special magical scroll that my court Wizard Shmee has ability to read and cast from. It will create a ring of power which will repel all evil and allow only those of good heart to enter. This ring of power will also be a refuge of your spirit should it be separated from your body in death. Here you will be able to be restored. Be aware though death takes it tole even here in Narnia and there may be a time when it can no longer return.

Soon after the king and his guards depart. Shmee begins to cast the magical spell but there is a catch. This type of spell takes an hour to complete and Shmee must not be interrupted during this time so it is up to our adventurers to protect him.

This is where the Black Knight appears, a mysterious undead creature clad all in black armor and hides in the canopy of the trees for her dares not enter into the sunlight. He wields a huge two-haned sword. He is not happy that new Sons of Adam and Daughters of Eve have come to the land of Narnia and will do anything to stop them.

The Black Knight calls upon his minions to attack the adventurers which include wolves and goblins. Unable to go into the sunlight he is powerless to attack them directly unless they foolishly engage him under the trees.

Finally after an hour our brave adventurers fend off the minions of the Black Knight and he runs off into the forest. Victory! And the Circle of Power is completed.

The adventurers retire to the Inn for refreshments and hot dogs. Soon after Sir Vallanor shows up and requests the adventurers help route the remaining forces of the Black Knight and help save his bestest friend in the world Mr. Beaver.

The rest of the event is spent defeating the forces of the Black Knight in the forest and finally rescuing Mr. Beaver in and epic battle of good vs evil.
